Football Clubs have rightly been cautious in using social media to represent their brand and connect the commercial aspect of the club to their fan-base. How can a football club protect its brand image in an online world which gives a voice and platform on your account pages , feeds and comments to those who do not represent the football clubs interests. While all premier league clubs are now on twitter with a club account, the same cannot be said of clubs most valuable assets, the players.

Players are of course on twitter running their own accounts either independently or under club guidance and management. But the control and monetisation of a players fanbase is limited and player tweets uncontrolled and subject to abuse.

BacktheLads is a new social media platform built to protect targeted footballers through our patented reputation management tool. The community and their interactions are self moderated, with all comments cleaned, filtered or removed before been shown to the football players screen and prioritized using a unique ranking formula.

Festival Friend Finder

Planning and Development Stage

Festivals are an experiential environment, but tagging the whereabouts of friends, performances and events in these vast pop-up music cities can prove difficult and waste precious party time.

#FestFriendFinder is an application that works in a similar fashion to Find My iPhone. Using GEO location tools, the app will locate where you are in the Festival and syncs this to your friend’s phones. You can also view where your friend’s are in the process.

The app will allow you to ping each other and gives you a marker tool to place meeting points for hook ups that create the best memories.

The technology in this one is exciting!

SwitchCarte

Planning and Development Phase

Working on a project with Taylor Walker, we discovered that there was no integral solution for venues to manage their menus in house. SwitchCarte is a digital tool that creates menus on site, giving managers and head chefs the ability to quickly edit their menus in accordance with seasons, national holidays and special events.

The tool has a selection of menu design templates (folding, full page, size variants etc), fonts and themes to suit all genre of restaurant, from the minimal contemporary to the French boutique to the home grown local to modern a la carte. Managers create an account, add their dishes, choose a template, choose a font, add their courses and can drag, drop, space, size and categorize content to create a menu that’s speaks for their brand.

The system includes a price band function for location based menus on a wider scale and keeps all created menus and dishes in a personal database. Menus can then be printed on site or can be extracted for printers.

The tools also allows for bespoke designs, and can have functions and design options tailored to suit a specific brand or restaurant.

Solitare Mobile App

We produce our mobile applications for agencies who utilise scotchegg for development skills, but then brand and promote their applications themselves. As such we recently explored the idea of developing a solitaire game for a marking company who then dropped the idea for something else, however we decided we wanted to make the game anyway! So scotchegg developed a mobile solitaire application using JQuery Mobile libraries and PhoneGap, which aimed to emulate the well know PC based game of solitaire closely. The aim was to showcase our talent for building interesting, interactive mobile applications and also to demonstrate the development of a recreational application.

A game that uses complex logic to determine the correct moves and cards system, with pattern matching, random shuffling and subtle effects, the game delivers a clean experience. To build this application, we again utilised our wealth of known web technologies to implement a HTML 5 and Javascript game engine to power the logic of the application, then deploying and working with Phone Gap to develop this further for the android handset markets.

We also added a feature to allow users to take a picture in the application and apply this to the board background, so allowing a little customisation to the experience.

The application is available via the android market place soon to be released on the IPhone market place.
